@mel_dub1: Variegated plants can suddenly start growing all-white leaves or all-green leaves, and it confuses so many people. This happens because variegation depends on how green and white cells develop inside each new leaf. Stable variegation (like Thai Constellation) stays consistent, but unstable variegation (like Monstera albo, Philodendron, or variegated Hoyas) can swing dramatically. All-white leaves have zero chlorophyll, so they can’t produce energy and the vine will eventually starve. All-green leaves are survival mode, where the plant makes as much chlorophyll as possible. Cutting back to a greener node gives the next leaf more green cells to work with, so the pattern has a better chance of balancing out again. You cannot control variegation, but you can influence it with good light, pruning, and enough green tissue for the plant to stay alive.
