I pre fill only if the space/filter orientation allows me to, most of the time unless it’s trucks like this it’s not possible

When I change it on a semi, when removing the drain plug. You want to keep pressure on it while unscrewing it and then quickly pull and no oil will get on your fingers.

I only prefil my filters if I'm able to. if not lube the seal and stick it on

I don’t prefill simply so I don’t have to fight with full and heavy filters, I work on Mack’s and if you’ve even worked on one you know there filter locations are a pain especially on the granite cabs

Ever notice the Lucas side on the toy at the parts store counter is a little harder to turn? That means more fuel used.

I remember last summer my dad got this junk Hyundai elentra and I did a oil change with out filling the filter and the thing was knocking for a few seconds so it does help but how much is the wuestion

I prefill at least halfway on tractors, why have ten seconds of no oil pressure when you can take two minutes to prevent that imo. Probably a nit picky thing either way but I have my preference
