Avatar getting nominated for a box office achievement award when tickets aren’t even on sale shows how unserious that category is. Sure, it’s safe to assume it’ll do well, but nominating beforehand discredits the category as a whole in my eyes.

cinematic and box office is lowkey a good category to acknowledge films with significant cultural impact or value added to the industry/influence. tho that would differ year by year and hard to quantify, it shouldn’t be a popularity content per se so that it can be a more legit category.

Train Dreams should’ve been there instead of Frankenstein. Frankenstein was good but not award winning good here. Maybe in something like costuming but not drama.
