@runthisshit8: During a simulated engine-out exercise on May 1, 2024, a Cessna 172M suffered a hard landing short of the runway at Carroll County Regional Airport in Westminster, Maryland. Airspeed dropped too low on final, the aircraft touched down hard, bounced, and a delayed go-around attempt led to loss of control. The NTSB found no mechanical issues and attributed the accident to pilot judgment during the approach and delayed remedial action by the instructor, resulting in one minor injury.
