Former Calvinist here and the belief of double predestination is exactly why I left. As you said - the Bible cannot contradict itself. I couldn’t reconcile (1 Tim 2:4) God “desires all men to be saved” — Yes, God predestines some to heaven (based on His foreknowledge of their free cooperation with grace). But never predestines anyone to hell. We can’t choose God without His help but we remain free to cooperate or resist. Paul’s argument doesn’t end at chapter 9. Romans 9 emphasizes God’s role. Romans 10 emphasizes human responsibility. Romans 11 reconciles them. Regarding Pharaoh — “God hardens by withdrawing grace, and He withdraws a grace only after a person freely resists it.” - Aquinas.. God permits the consequence of (their) rejection and uses it in His plan.

Calvinism is easy to debunk. For Calvinism to work, every time the Bible uses the word "world" in the NT it has to mean "only God's elect" and it just simply doesn't work. "World" in the Bible means everyone.

Calvanist and election is biblical and people don’t like hearing they truly don’t have free will or the ability to choose god on their own. But the Bible can’t be argued with 🤷🏼♀️

I dont understand why god cant predestine us and we have free will? The bible teaches both and Calvinism puts God in a box. God is so powerful, his will can still be done despite my free will. No free will completely changes the message of the bible AND Gods heart.

John 12:32 says ‘if I be lifted up, I will draw all men unto Me’ - so Calvinism is saying that ‘all men’ isn’t really true? Jesus speaking of his crucifixion drawing all men to Himself - Calvinism is saying ‘well, not ALL men. Jesus didn’t really mean that’ ? Is that what we’re supposed to believe? Only ‘chosen men’ are drawn to Him?

The Bible says people have walked away from the faith, this alone proved to me that armianism is real. I’ll affirm it to the day I die after looking for more biblical proof, I read verses about predestination with a Different lens

I have such a hard time with this. I believe He has to give us the gift of salvation. However, the ultimate end of Calvinism has to be that God created people just to send them to eternal death. So there needs to be both free will but also He makes it happen???

Love James White! I typically tell people I adhere to the Doctrines of Grace, as a strong Calvinist who is not a “hyper-Calvinist.” So encouraging to see your platform and strong voice sharing truth!

Because of election, we KNOW that our evangelistic efforts will be fruitful. We plant the seed and God changes the hearts. We aren’t praying anyone into heaven, but we are spreading the gospel.

Hi Jolie, been a follower for quite some time now. Love your content. This however does seem to be not theologically based. I myself dont have the answer right now, but my dad is a biblical scholar, with multipile degrees in different areas of theology. I'm going to call him in the morning, and ask him for some scriptures because I love a good biblical discourse. Hope you're open to responding back. p.s. as I've gotten back to deepening my relationship with God a lot of your book recs are what I go to, as I no longer am on with being a Christian who reads smug, so ty!

Definitely listen to Mike Winger and his thoughts on Calvinism, at least for the opposing understanding! Romans 9 &10 STOPPED me in my tracks but after a few days of talking to my husband and reading over and over and research, we saw that it was about Israel/jacob vs Esau… not salvation, would love to hear your take!

I love MacArthur, Baucham, Paul Washer etc but I came out of Calvinism years ago and I’d encourage everyone to look up Soteriology 101 on YouTube and another great one is DTBM. He has many Q & A’s and covers predestination extensively. 💕

im on this journey with you. but as soon as I heard this, the Spirit spoke "God's will is that none shall perish, but all come to repentance" 2nd Peter 3:9. How can we reconcile that His will is none shall perish, and but it takes the choice of repentance by man in order to not perish?

We DO have free will. HOWEVER… man’s ‘free will’ will ALWAYS take him AWAY from God. None of us would or could ever choose God without Him drawing us through His chords of love! We are Spiritually DEAD! Incapable of choosing God. He gives us a new heart of flesh to replace our heart of stone. It’s ALL of God, ALL of Grace!! Amen! ✝️

Calvinists do believe in evangelize because we don’t know who is saved or not saved. Only God knows. Therefore we are called to share the gospel with everyone! I’m a Calvinist by the way.
