4 percent. That's what the odds looked like when Jeff Julian was diagnosed with stage four lung cancer in 2015. Four doctors in. Each one looked at him and offered the same thing. Standard of care, and maybe 3 to 4 months. 🙏 He wasn't looking for a timeline. He was looking for someone who would fight with him. Doctor after doctor, the hope started slipping. And then on the fifth visit, the one he almost didn't go to, he found her. Dr. Gitlitz at USC. Same treatment. Same numbers. But she looked at him differently. She didn't offer sympathy. She offered a plan. Got up, got in the car with his wife and sister, and walked out with his hope back. That was the turning point. Jeff Julian is a USC-trained swimmer, an 8-time All-American, a former US National Team member, and spent 17 years building Rose Bowl Aquatics into a top 25 program in the nation. He helped coach Jason Lezak before the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. His wife Kristine is a 1996 Olympic gold medalist. He is now the Director of the 360 Performance Center at Mission Viejo Nadadores, and in 2021, he announced he was cancer free. The numbers said 4 percent. He's still here. Swipe through and stay till the end. If this hit home, save this post for when you or someone you need needs to hear it. And if you know someone going through it, share this with them. This story was meant to be passed on. 🙏 🎙️ Watch Jeff's full episode on YouTube. Search
