Not sure where you’re located but my dogs joint was swollen and he was limping for days like this and they did a blood test and it was lymes disease.

I’m just here as a vet tech to say… everyone’s dog is going to be different when it comes to injuries or illness. Please do not panic because someone said this or that was wrong with their dog. Starting small with rest and pain meds is great, if it doesn’t work then worry about the next step. Ps.. labs are my favourite and yours is a cutie. Good luck and big prayers for yall.

Swollen joints for my golden retriever turned out to be Immuned Mediated polyarthritis. Needed joint taps to diagnose by an internist. Keep pushing for tests

My dog did this and it showed inflammation in his paw (had x-ray done) which I think it’s arthritis based. We were given some anti inflammatory pills which helped a lot with limping. He’s 9 years old.

Vet tech here, My own dog was limping on his right front leg for like a month. X rays were done and everything looked normal. He likely strained a ligament or muscle and they can take a bit to heal. NSAIDs and cage rest. I also did a warm compression twice daily which I started 48 hours after I noticed the limp. You should see a difference with the NSAID’s within 1-3 days from starting

Vet tech here! i had a case similar to this a few months ago. x-rays didn’t show anything remotely concerning so we considered it a soft tissue injury and potential infection with the swelling. we did nsaid’s and a round of antibiotics, it cleared up very quickly! I hope your baby feels better soon! seeing them in pain is always so hard

My dog did this for a few days and it ended up being joint inflammation. Joint medication and dog aspirin helped so so much

This is so sad. I hope you find answers. My baby had bone cancer and we had to amputate. He’s been doing amazing ever since but we’re scared it’s going to eventually spread somewhere else 😔

This same thing happened with my chocolate lab as well. After some meds and rest for a couple of days he was back to his normal self. They assumed it was a soft tissue injury. A few weeks later he was limping again and we started the cycle back over. All blood work is normal and X-rays still normal. He just plays too hard 😅 hoping your sweet boy feels better soon!
