After like 5 failed attempts i JUST succeeded with mine!! This is what i did this time: 1. Use unbleached AP flour 2. Used tap water 3. The consistency should be thickkk like flip your jar upside down and wont fall out thick!!! I dont use measurements either. Mine activated in like 4-5 days!!! Trustt and good luckkk

I think your starter is too watery. It needs to be sticky and won’t fall if you flip the jar upside down. Also lightly cover it in the room temperature. Maybe your house is too cold too. You got it! Don’t give up.

I’ve noticed that 1/2 a cup of flour works best and 1/4 cup water

Try using bread flour, she looks really hungry. Pancake like consistency

A lady told me to do 1/4 starter, 1/2 flour and 1/4 water. Yes it’s gonna be chucky but it works

you're adding way too much water! it needs to be thicker. I followed the same girl who doesnt measure and mine started bubbling day 4 by day 8 it was ready!!

I don’t measure anything when feeding or discarding my starter and I use tap water and all purpose flour and have no clue what “ratios” I’m using. The BEST advice is buy someone’s established starter and then it will adapt to your style! Don’t over complicate it!

More flour than water when you feed

Use a scale, maybe the ratios are off. Your starter just looks hungry in the beginning. But maybe try measuring! She looks healthy! dont give up!

Dump everything besides like 30g and feed with whole wheat flour, a 1:5:5 ratio so 30g starter 150g whole wheat flour 150g water and put somewhere warm overnight. Mine was stagnant for a bit before it activated and this did the trick!

You aren’t measuring. That will be the determining factor. Emily is a pro!! 100% love her and she also has a really good tutorial video. But I would really recommend measuring. If you don’t measure by grams measure with measuring cups.
