I'm going to guess he has been personally taken care of the car, but maybe he has reached an age where he's no longer able to do proper maintenance on things which is why he's been going to mechanics. I feel like that would explain all his knowledge on the car parts and the maintenance that's been done and then time and day it was done.

if theres anything ive learned from owning Pontiacs (which is what my family drove most of the time growing up) if you take care of them they last forever... unfortunately most Pontiac owners cant afford the maintenance they need 😂😂
