I'm a guy, so I don't know a thing about the tool or how to make it better, but from my experiences of going to the OGBYN with a few different GFs, the one thing I would change is the person using the tool. It seems that male doctors are rough, don't care about her discomfort or issues and seem indifferent to any questions.

Warm the damn thing up first. Put some cush silicone lining on it. No lore torquing, smoother crank function. Way way smaller.

They can manage to clean out an ear canal with very little discomfort, so I don't know why we're still using such tools for such a sensitive area. Small camera probe with appendages to administer numbing and remove a sliver of cervix (which makes me shudder in fear 😅).

I feel like there's particularly a lot of work to be done for us V keepers with tilted internals. When I went for my pap, it was 20+ minutes of 2 diff midwives cranking the speculum every which way like it was it was an Atari joystick 😭 I had to sit in my car and cry after bc it hurt so much. My normally high pain tolerance was NOTHING against the ole duckbill of torture

we have swabs in NZ for the testing part now, and we do them ourselves. so much better.

Fiber optic camera, small, they have a light, they have the ability to be fixed to collection tooling that is also small. The image can be shared with the patient. If is possible to put stints in the coronary artery I'm sure we can do a pap smear with something a little less aggressive 😉
