@thepuppyacademy: When transitioning your pup from pads to going outdoors, different set ups can work for different pups: 1 - you can just fully eliminate the pads and take them directly outside to potty from the crate at their potty time (highly recommend following a potty/crate schedule for this — link in bio for ours in the free masterclass) 2 - gradually move the pee pad closer to the door that leads them outside 3 - if your pup is very stubborn with the pads and keeps holding it, try training and walking them first to get them moving, then try potting again. The movement can stir up the need to go. 4 - for other pad-committed pups, when nothing else has worked, we’ve brought the pad outside with us to entice them to go, then have removed the pad. Tricking them a little bit it’s worked 😉 Link in profile for more puppy training help! 🐶 #pottytraining #peepadtraining #newpuppy #puppyhelp #thepuppyacademy

Is it possible to have them trained to do both I live in a high rise apartment and want her to pee outside when she’s on pee walks and if she has a accident inside she knows to use the pad?

I would slowly move pad to door than when they know to get there, take the pad outside, they'll get the idea

My advice is: don’t give up. I trained my dog to use pee pads for about three years, and it took me a year to transition him to go outside. I’m not gonna lie, the grass pee pads really helped with this process. I 100% agree with everything he’s saying—good luck. 🍀
