Lindsay Clancy's lawyer today questioned why her psychiatrist didn't contact her parents and ask her to sign a form allowing them to disclose her medical information.
Lindsay Clancy's lawyer today questioned why her psychiatrist didn't contact her parents and ask her to sign a form allowing them to disclose her medical information. "Even though her mother, her father, her husband didn't call you, you could have then reached out to them, right?" Kevin Reddington asked. "I could have, but it is not typically something that is done when you have an adult patient who is able to speak for themselves," Jennifer Tufts answered. "What is that?" Reddington asked. "It's not typically done when you have an adult patient who is able to speak for themselves," Tufts said. "My God, you don't call the parents that she's living with because they're helping her or her husband?" Reddington asked. "No," Tufts answered. "Because why? She's able to advocate for herself?" Reddington asked. "Yes," Tufts answered. Reddington followed on testimony about Clancy eating a marijuana gummy to try to ease her insomnia. "She wasn't smoking marijuana, was she?" he asked. "She did not tell me she was smoking marijuana," Tufts answered. She tell you that she was using marijuana? No," Tufts answered. "Did she tell you that she was using gummies? "No," Tufts answered. Reddingon showed Tufts records that state, "In the middle of November, she tried taking a marijuana edible to help her sleep, which caused her to have increased anxiety and palpitations." You can watch all of Tufts' tesitmony on my YouTube channel and Facebook page. Clancy, now 35 years old, saw Tufts 14 times between September 2022 and January 2023. Tufts prescribed her Zoloft (Sertraline) at their first appointment in September 2022, then Ativan (Lorazepam) in October 2022 as a short-term, as-needed medication for escalating anxiety. She recommended Hydroxyzine and Buspirone (BuSpar) to taper off Ativan and prescribed Valium (Diazepam) "because of that rebound anxiety with the Ativan," Tufts testified. Meanwhile, Clancy took other medication prescribed to her at South Shore Prenatal Clinic, including Trazodone, Prozac, Seroquel and Remeron with Klonopin. She last saw Tufts on Jan. 23, 2023, one day before she strangled her thriee children in their home in Duxbury, Massachusetts. #law #crime #court
