It uses Raid 🤣 I think you mean you can format it in a Raid 1, JOB or Raid 0 with the two drives, non of these formats are hot swap-able by the way. Don’t put the drives in when the unit is on. Sure if they are brand new still not a good idea but with no data it’s most likely ok, but you can def wipe your data if you plug in a drive with data on it if the raid is powered on. UGreen makes a great NAS I have two. You still need to use cloud storage for offsite backups but the NAS can backup to a cloud account. iOS backups cannot restore from the NAS but you can backup your photos etc.

Nice setup. But unless you Also have a remote backup strategy you will lose data from home devices in local disasters. Fire, flood etc.
