These stores need to start having all styles and sizes available in store then. It’s almost impossible to actually shop in-person in nowadays bc stores don’t have things.

so if THEY send the incorrect size or order, which they've done to me in the past, are they covering that return fee? also, they don't carry certain sizes in store & they direct you to buy online. if that's the case, they should carry ALL items & sizes in store to avoid this hassle

So I can’t try it on in store, they don’t have consistent sizing and now I’m have to pay for their bad business practices. No- I won’t shop there

Not to completely defend big business but I think we’ve forgotten what online shopping was like pre-amazon. Free online returns are TERRIBLE for retailers because many items are simply not worth recouping, redistributing, and reshelving, and the cost of this practice is now factored into the selling price. This process is so badly organized that most stuff sent back through the logistics chain is just thrown away. It’s very difficult for retailers to not do free returns because Amazon made the practice so ubiquitous, even if it’s not optimal for the product because consumers expect free returns. I think a major benefit of this, from an environmental standpoint, is that consumers will be more selective about what they’re buying, potentially reducing waste from the start, and fees collected through this program may actually result in returned items being evaluated and restocked for purchase, further reducing waste.

Land’s End charged me $8.95 to return a single shirt. I’ll think twice before ordering from them again.
