I never ran the Amsoil more than 15k. I would run 7500, change the filter then run another 7500, then change the oil. I ran that car nearly 100 thousand miles that way then pulled both valve covers and it looked new inside. 25k seems a little far out there.

I’d much rather run super tech at 5k intervals than 15k intervals with amsoil…

yup, when is the last time you heard about someone blowing an engine due to the brand of oil. it almost always comes down to maintenance habits and whether you use synthetic or conventional.

I don’t care how good they claim their oil is, I’ll never run an oil longer than 5k miles. I use either Pennzoil Platinum/Ultra Platinum synthetic or Valvoline synthetic oil and change it every 5k miles. More frequent oil changes is good insurance for the motor.

amsoil is not 100% synthetic, they use hydro cracked petroleum oil for the base

I am an Amsoil dealer mainly because of the motorcycles, but I get people buying the oil for cars from me and I’ll tell them like 5000 miles. They should be changing their oil for the Harleys. It’s 3000 on the nose Buddy. I tell people don’t mess with going over because their air cooled engines and yeah oil takes a beating on an air cooled engine so I tell him 3000 on the nose don’t go over

I just want to put out some info from personal experience with motorcraft filters. I own a 14 raptor and it uses the fl820s and I’ve had 2 filters come apart in the same spot with only 5k mi, safe to say I’m not going to use another motorcraft filter.

Always change your oil at 3k-5k miles no matter what any company says. You can't trust any of these manufacturers and what they claim. Better safe than sorry. 410k miles on my vehicle and it's still going strong.

Had a friend run it in his ‘19 powerstroke for 25k miles. Amsoil filter. Oil analysis was fine at 25k.

I would be curious if that engine was modified as to “why he blew his engine”

What they don’t tell you is you still need to be changing your oil filters and topping it up

What oil do you recommend running in a jeep gladiator? It’s a 25 model and I just did my 1st oil change with amsoil 5w20. Is this good? They call for 0w20

So are most people going off mileage or the percentage that the vehicle says. Let’s say change it at 25%?

Been using AMSOIL for 25 years @ 10,000 mile or more intervals. Never an issue with any vehicle.

As a technician that owned my own shop I just can't get past the fact it's Pennzoil I have pulled the heads off of vehicles that the owners used nothing but Pennzoil in over the years and they were always the worst caked up sludge build up I've ever seen! I do understand though it is a difference between the old regular Pennzoil and the new Synthetic but I just don't trust a company that had such a bad product run for so long I will stick with my Valvoline products!

Rich, love your content. Getting Royal Purple Duralec 15W-40 for $29.99 a gallon w/ no tax for Farm use, buying 3 cases at a time for my 2000 7.3 Powerstroke (15 qts), plus use the $50 gift card the parts store sends the next week to buy WixXP filters. I feel it’s a great overall deal, but would love your feedback
