Okay but SoFi just changed from 3.6% down to 1% unless you pay $10 a month and I want to move bc that doesn’t seem like something that’s going to go back up and I don’t want to pay my bank $120 a year. Idk where to move to though

If you are just starting out keep in mind -bottom line you cannot go wrong by saving money. period. CD rates are also slightly better though you commit to a set time, shop around.

the market sets rates.... the FED simply controls the federal funds rate, i.e. overnight window, i.e. the extreme short duration.... it not picky but important to understand how our monetary system operates

Also…same for your insurance costs. Switching companies is not going to keep you from paying less in 2026 than in 2025. All companies rates are increasing. Just a matter of when throughout the year

It’s still a better return than what I’m losing in interest on my mortgage, so it’s all good. 🙂
