@aubreyproducer: Have you ever needed a louder mix but you push your limiter and it starts degrading and distorting? How on earth can you get more volume in your mix now? Come forth the mighty CLIPPER! Place the clipper plugin BEFORE your limiter and aim for 1-2db of clipping and you will get a little bit extra gain in your masters without the awful distortion you get when you push a limiter. My two favourite clippers are the Kazrog KClip3 (featured in this tutorial) and the Schwabe Gold Clip -------- 👋 Visit www.aubreywhitfield.com/store or the link in my bio where you will find: ◾️Online Courses in Producing and Mixing ◾️A collection of mixing and mastering masterclasses ◾️Preset Packs for your favourite plugin ◾️My mix template in Logic Pro, Ableton & FL Studio ◾️Pre-made Plugin Mixing Chains ◾️EQ frequency guides ◾️Some freebies! ◾️Plus more.... #musicproducer #beatmaker #studioflow #musicproduction #producerlife

Quick note before someone asks about the ceiling at 0.1 dBFS: She’s not breaking rules. Modern limiters with true peak detection handle intersample peaks during encoding. The 1dB guideline was a safety buffer from when tools were less precise.

It's not how loud you can get it it's how loud you can get it and have it still sound like music.. That is tricky.. And in most cases unnecessary.. Keep in mind some of the best music ever made in 80 years has lots of dynamics and isn't louder Then −16.. Some of it lower than that.. Don't get sucked in to trying to make everything loud.. Most of the streaming and anything on the internet gets normalized anyway.. I just don't mix things or master them too quietly..

you dont need a 'super loud'mix. if your sound choice is good, and you have mixed and processed the tracks well, it will be perceiably loud anyway. super loud just means pushing it extra hard through a limiter or maximise which reduces dynamics and clarity. theres never any need to master a final track at anything louder than -7 to -8 LUFS. this will stand up to any other track and sound loud on club systems. anything else is squashed excess.
