not a vet but if my dogs ears are flopped over I fold them back the right way and say "fix yourself you're a hot mess" and I did it at the vet and she chuckled so hard

If post op directions haven’t been followed (pet is running around the house, not wearing e-collar, licking at incision, etc) I often joke “aw Luna must have not read her discharge instructions” 🤣🙄

When my cat died and was in the ER & I came to pick up his medical notes one of staff had put “being very handsome” in his chart for his 3 am check and it made me smile to see that during such a difficult time 💙

When a pet is going home after sedation i tell the owner they’ll need someone to drive them home or when the dog has age related changes to the eyes I tell the owner they might need some readers or have trouble driving at night

If the pet is really difficult or noisy in the back for vaccines or toe nail trims, when I take them back in the room I say “I don’t know who taught them those profanities”. Really hits with certain clients, especially old people
