@ohhowcivilized: Recipe is linked in bio. Strawberry Vanilla Tea [Hot Tea Series Week 1] I’m a Tea Sommelier and welcome to my hot tea series where I make a new hot tea blend every week this winter. This is a strawberry vanilla tea and I’m using my hot tea formula, which is 1 tea plus 1 fruit plus 1 spice or botanic. Instead of fresh fruit and herbs which are used in my cold brew teas, I like to use freeze-dried fruit or fruit juice to make hot tea. For this strawberry vanilla tea, I’m using English Breakfast tea as my tea, freeze-dried strawberries as my fruit, and vanilla bean as my spice. If you don’t have vanilla beans, you can use vanilla extract. Start by boiling water. I always use an electric kettle with a temperature setting. Set the temperature anywhere between 208 - 212 degrees fahrenheit. While the water is heating up, cut the vanilla bean in half lengthwise and scrape off the seeds inside. Put the seeds and the bean into a teapot. Add the black tea and the freeze-dried strawberries. Add the freshly boiled water and cover and steep for 5 minutes. It’s always a good idea to set a timer.
