I’ve been practicing with my 6 month golden retriever but whenever I stop and pop the leash he just stands there ahead of me and looks around sniffing the air. He will look at me but just wait. He doesn’t walk back over to me. Any tips for getting him to pay attention and come back to my side?

My cocker spaniel is just impossible to walk without a head harness. I really want the problem to go but I’ve tried nearly everything and it doesn’t work😞 he doesn’t come back if I stop he just starts staring at things and sniffing thing because of his breed, advice please☹

my dog is on constant surveillance so even when I check him with the leash he will stop but we can stand there for literally 20 minutes and he won't check in with me. Just constantly watching all around.
