My dog was rushed to ER and diagnosed w pulmonary hypertension. I got an oxygen tank but she declined fast and passed in one month. I was not prepared. I wish vet told me they could go this fast. Cherish him as if it were his last day

my 11yo Maltese has been diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension 2 days ago. she is not with congestive heart failure but had 2 syncope episodes in 48 hours (horrible). she is taking meds and I hope they help her.

are you on furosemide everyday? a heart murmur will turn into heart failure and then meds everyday help the backed up fluid.

In case my dog’s experience can help anyone - my dog was on too high a dose of thyroid medication. Once I stopped giving it to her, the breathing normalized. Also, I feed her smaller, but more frequent meals.

It’s always hard to see our babies going through health issues. My dog had a grade 5 heart murmur and it’s not doing any better. All we can do is spend time with them and make sure they are okay

Put some pillow at home sleep on a pillow I have the same dog. He died at 5:30 on Saturday, December 6, 2025. Please take him to the doctor. They give him some IV or medication. Let him die in peace without suffering.

i just lost my dog to this yesterday. she was breathing like this, took her to the ER vet and they gave her oxygen and lacix to try and drain the fluid from her lungs. in the car going home she passed in my arms
