I have a theory. Tarantino saw There Will Be Blood and felt challenged and wanted to make his masterpiece. So Tarantino made Inglourious Basterds. What is the one flaw that people always point out in Tarantinos masterpiece? Eli Roth being incredibly miscast and being terrible in the film. He is a bad actor. People found out that role was almost played by Adam Sandler and people hated Eli Roth in the film even more. Tarantino can’t stand this. So he had to create a reality where There Will Be Blood has one major flaw and of course the flow needs to be the co lead being the weakest actor and worst part of the film. He knows this isn’t true. But he needs it to be true to feel better about his movie. Tarantino is sad.
