tablets like these CAN clean the top of the washer "drum" but the water doesnt go up that high, so if yer buying it for that u can skip it. if u want to clean the drum ive used the active brand for a while now and it does work

I have 2 dogs one being a Great Pyrenees,I use citric acid or lemon juice and bleach, had the same LG front loading washer for 15 years with no issues. Also it’s not going to clean the top of the washer you have to do that with a wet paper towel

No, no we didn’t ever pour that in a washing machine. Didn’t need to do this in the 80s, because detergents weren’t as heavily petroleum based as they are now which causes residue and build up.
