@laurenatf: Sparring is one of those things so many women feel nervous about… usually because you worry about getting hurt or you’re scared of hurting your sparring partner. But sparring doesn’t have to be full power or aggressive. It’s literally just a chance to practice the technique you learned in the session, work on your timing and defence. And when you’re surrounded by the right people like people you trust you realise it can actually be fun and light hearted!! Some of the girls on the retreat had never even trained Muay Thai before and said they wouldn’t spar but by day two they were laughing and having fun with it!! If you’re unsure or nervous the best thing you can do is communicate. Agree on a level you’re both comfortable with and after round one just check in with your partner!! I promise it doesn’t always have to be scary!! 💜 #fyp #muaythaigirls #muaythaicamp #muaythaiwomen #sparring
It's good when sparring is scary. It's supposed to give you a feeling of a real fight so when something actually happens you're conditioned to the situation and you can fight instead of being afraid

Pretty sure stepping out of your comfort zone is how you actually improve. Sparring is supposed to be a bit scary and humbling not just do whatever for 3 mins and then move on. You won't actually get punished for mistakes and thus will be way less likely to fix them or you'll take way longer.

The whole point of sparring is to train u for the real thing. If u js laugh during sparring instead of trating it as the real thing, when ur in the actual fight, ull be totally unprepared for the pain and actual fighting.

In my experience women have heavier hands in sparring than men do. And that is coming from a man.

You need intensity to prepare yourself for a fight

There is room for many different kinds of sparring in training. Play sparring, light sparring and hard sparring. All dependent on your goals and stage of training.

I mean sparring can be intense but playful/light Most of the time. The clips you just showed ya‘ll just straight up laughed and dropped your hands. If you only want to have fun That’s okay. If you want to get better tho it will be quite hard with that type of focus

If you don’t train to fight then absolutely. And for someone who’s nervous yes it’s awesome!! But I believe that the right club and coaches would never let you get hurt or mistreated. I spar with mainly men. And I’ve never been scared. It’s all about respect🙌🏼
