Put a damp cloth under the slicer to keep it from sliding around, and twist the handle towards you instead of away from you ☺️

it's backwards. you're cutting the bread from the bottom, either turn the slicer around or reverse the way you're winding it, it'll be easier when it cuts from the top down. hope this helps
