@itsmeghankay: Easy recipe for my family of five. This is one of my go-to pasta bakes and it’s always a favorite comfort food in our home INGREDIENTS 1 lb ground beef 1 tbsp olive oil 1 16 oz dry penne pasta 15 oz ricotta cheese 2 cups mozzarella cheese 1 large egg 16 oz marinara jar 1 tbsp tomato paste 1 tbsp minced garlic 1/2 diced onion (optional) Salt & pepper to taste Italian seasoning Onion powder Garlic powder Oregano Parsley 1/2 cup shredded Parmesan cheese DIRECTIONS 1. In a medium heat pot, add olive oil and cook ground beef. Can add onions as well. Once it is cooked, turn heat down to medium/low heat and add minced garlic, salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, tomato paste, onion powder, garlic powder and oregano. 2. In a separate pot, cook your pasta in salted water. 3. As pasta is cooking, make your cheese mixture in a separate bowl and combine ricotta cheese 1-2 cups mozzarella cheese, 1 egg, salt, pepper, Italian seasoning and parsley. Add cooked pasta into cheese mixture. add a few scoops of the marinara mixture into the cheese mixture with the pasta. 4. In a 13x9 pan, layer sauce with pasta. Top with mozzarella and parmesan. preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cook for 30 minutes. Broil for 2-3 min for additional golden brown. 5. Serve and enjoy! #bakedziti #DinnerIdeas #cookwithme #mealideas

Deb :
@Deb: So you make the cheese mixture, add the pasta and a couple scoops of the meat mixture. Then layer sauce in bottom, pasta on top and then sauce again and cheese? Just want to make sure I have the steps right because I plan to make this- this week. Thank you for sharing!
