In New England we do a potato candy except it’s potatoes, coconut, and confectioners sugar and vanilla extract formed into little rectangles and coated in chocolate

I REMEMBER MY GRANDMA MAKING THESE 😭 But I'm ALLERGIC to peanut butter, so she would put cinnamon in the middle, and it was SO GOOD like a cinnamon roll!!! 😭 Thank you for making this bc I guess I know what I'm making tonight, I never got the chance to know her recipe bc she passed away when I was 17 (diagnosed with Brain cancer when I was 16 and started losing some of her memories before that). So I never got the chance to learn from her. Just recently my husband managed to figure out her mashed potato recipe (he never knew her) and the moment I tasted them (bc it was my first time seeing him making mashed potatoes from scratch) I legit cried. It was a huge core memory which was those potatoes and that candy!

I grew up on potato candy. Did the instant potatoes affect the flavor much? I'd be afraid they'd be too salty. I loved the looks on my classmate's faces when I brought them to school for class parties

Potato candy❣❣❣. My grandma used to make potato candy for us. She would spread homemade jam on top of the peanut butter, then dip each cut candy into more powered sugar. I didn’t know it was made from potatoes until I was older and asked for the recipe.
