the babysitter is 100% at fault. I worked as a nanny and I absolutely never let the kids go with anyone until I called mom and had her verbally confirm its okay. its literally common sence🤦♀️

Why didn't the parents include in their list of instructions that there were no contact with the grandparents? the babysitter should have reached out to the parents about the grandparents. but it's not a 100%. The babysitter's fault.

Common sense if someone showed up while you're babysitting and says they'll take the kids and they're the grandparents you call the parents! Especially when the kids didn't even know them!

Everyone saying thw childminder wasn't tp blame. NO! Any childcare provider should know not to hand over a child to anyone they dont know without parental consent, no matter who they say they are. That's basic safeguarding and is inexcusable.

I think they both messed up here. A the kids parents didn’t disclose with the babysitter they were no contact with the grandparents but also the babysitter should’ve called to confirm

Okay, while yes, the sitter should’ve called the parents, I think the parents are also at fault for not telling the sitter about the grandparents from the start, especially if them trying to visit is a common occurrence.

The babysitter was in the wrong but the parents should have informed the babysitter of anyone who might try to come around and cause trouble.

yes the parents should have warned the babysitter but the babysitter also should have confirmed it was ok and that they were who they said they were. sure the kids recognized them but not well, so it could have been just anyone the kids have met once or twice
