As a public school teacher who has thought about homeschooling my own children, I admire your thoughts in this. They need to learn to function in the real world and we can’t always shelter them, even though I dislike the way public education is going

As someone who is homeschooled all the way up until college, I wish that I had at least gone to public school at least for high school

Who is saying homeschool kids don’t experience diversity? Or how to work hard…entrepreneurship, etc. they’re not locked up. That may have been your approach, but that’s not all homeschool mamas approach. Every parent has option to diversify the kids experience and there’s plenty that do. 🖤

For whatever it’s worth I think you absolutely made the right choice. You set aside your fears for the better of your children. Public school definitely comes with its challenges and it scary to think what they may be teaching the kids but realistically it starts at home. You’re doin your part at home so no matter what the school is doin they still have the home environment and good parents to teach them the ways of the world

Public school is a joke. We tried it for 9 years. We homeschool now and will

This calmed my mama heart. You said it perfectly! It’s so hard to let our kids go but we HAVE to pray to the big man above he keeps them safe. We can’t be with them forever ❤🥰

I disagree slightly on the controlled societal situation. I don't want to be around everyone who is like minded and while yes alot of homeschooling parents do purposely seek out ppl like them, not all do.

As someone that was homeschool and in public school- I 1000000% agree with everything you said! I’m also a preachers daughter and had I stayed knowing only what was taught- I wouldn’t know the world I know now. Flip side of that: I did go wild at a time but those are mistakes that made me who I am today and made me the parent I am today! ❤

Homeschool mom here✌ I’m sorry you had a bad experience with the homeschool group around you. We live in a small community so our friends kids, who public school, are our kids friends too. We are able to play local sports and also varsity sports at the local high school. We do the co ops and church groups also, but I can assure you that not all homeschoolers are the same 🙃. We homeschool to be on our own schedule lol. I do respect your decision. Just wanted to say that not all homeschool parents are white Baptist prudes🤣

You do you, no way I’m giving my kids to the wolves(government). I have 3 grown children that are doing fine in the real world that were homeschooled! The foundation is so important! But again your children your choice! Also my son played football with the public school all 4 years!

Homeschool mom here, and I do not think you're demonic at all! You're choosing what you feel is best for your children! We all have our reasons. We started homeschooling when we lived in the city. The diversity was amazing there. Our co-op was filled with many different races, religions, and political stances. We had artsy kids, athletic kids, kids with blue hair, religious kids. We loved it! Thankfully in Ohio, our kids can still play sports through the school and at the YMCA's/Family Centers. We keep the roads hot and are hardly ever home. I don't judge moms either way, either. I believe everybody makes the decisions that they believe are best for their children and what works for their family. You're doing a great job, momma!

This is why I plan to homeschool till 8th grade so at least they have a great foundation both in education and morals but we still socialize with everyone and anyone no matter their beliefs as long as they are a great person. Plus I want all the little years with them 🥹

First, I’m still shocked you have a child that old lol but second, you explain that so well. I don’t think you’re crazy. I think you made an incredible decision based on the best interest of your children. There are so many parents out here not even worried about what’s best for their kids. So I’m extremely impressed and so proud of you, mama 🩷💕🩷

i think a lot of it has to do with how/where you raise your children. within our church and ministry, we have such a wide diversity which exposes our children to so many things and people. they're also able to play sports within our school district which gives that opportunity as well. it's different for each family but i love that you shared this and followed what God was pulling you towards 🩷

Yes girl! This is exactly why my kids will go to public middle/highschool. They need that private school bubble popped at some point, because real life is gonna be a jump scare
