my friend had a child free wedding with only 1 exception being her nephew. he was the ring bearer, stayed only long enough to eat dinner, and then went to a friend's house for a sleepover. and he was so well behaved bc in his words "auntie let me come because she trusts me to be good"

let's be clear: it's not the kids ruining the weddings it's the adults bringing them. kids have zero choice about being brought and are often tired, hungry, overstimulated, bored, and miserable. it makes me sad for them.

Nope. My sister had a child free wedding and I literally dragged my cousin, her kids, and her damn stroller out of the building. If you cannot find or afford a babysitter you are uninvited. You have to miss out on this one.

These days you need security guards at the door. No kids means no kids so if you come to the reception with kids you get turned away.

My cousin had a child free wedding and I was going to be a week or two post partum so I didn’t attend and respectfully declined due to my child being too young to leave with someone else. I did cop a lot of slack for it but I was being respectful of their wishes and stand by my choice.

as a mother of 2 under 2, i would NEVER. if you say no kids and i can’t find other arrangements? i go by myself and my partner stays home or visa vera, or we both stay home. at our wedding, we’ll have our two kids for the ring bearing, and then they will be taken to the hotel etc

I have no problem with child free weddings, but it does bring up a question in my mind. what age are they considered old enough? obviously it is different per kid, but do they want above 18 or just old enough to sit quietly and behave, like middle schooler age?

So I’m older sister is getting married and I’m so happy and excited and can’t wait and she the godmother of my first daughter and her fiancé is the godmother of my son and they know my kids are well behaved and I take them everywhere because they are good kids but she is having a children free wedding and I understand why and I don’t blame her and I want the day not only stress free for her but for myself and I want to be there for my sister and I’m ok with her not wanting kids and out mother is not but I called her and told her why I’m ok with it and why this is a good idea knowing some of the kids in our family don’t listen and yes we are adults but we are the youngest beside out kids or cousins and for years when me and my sister being teen and all of our cousins were getting married we would watch our little cousins and now me being a mom and haven’t been to a wedding is years and I don’t drink I would be watching my kids and all our little cousins so I’m happy with this and told our mom is my kids are the only ones to go that’s going to start something. A day for just my sister and I been waiting for this for years I want all my attention to be on her.

The last wedding I went to- the only child there, little girl, DID ✨SCREAMING✨ LAPS AROUND THE CHURCH while the bride & groom said their vows. It was the worst.

people do so much without kids. office Partys, Sports Events, Work Out, bars, Bachelor Partys, funerals, a late movie. but somehow childfree weddings are a problem 🙄
