I’m a bit confused. I understand the notion that the universe had a beginning point might imply that gods will changed from not creating the universe to creating it. But God must be the unmoved first cause. But then is this idea just wrongly conflating the state of an uncreated universe with the state of God not having the will to create it. And it means that God always willed the creation of the universe but willed it to be created at a later time. So how can we consider that it’s eternity means there can be no beginning of the universe when time is a property of creation and the universe is a part of creation? idek if I’m making sense atp.

But isnt one of Gods names the first? Does the universe being eternal not contradict the name?

Yeah I think this is correct cus my teacher explained this in a very similar way with a much more traditional style.
