Therapy... once you start it.. it never ends. You just gradually become a better version of yourself if you are open.

Personally I found out that the "therapy" part is actually the hours and days after the therapy session itself after everything had time to sit with me

The real therapy is taking what you learned from your conversation with your therapist and actually putting it into practice over a lifetime. I learned very quickly that I want to be in therapy all throughout my life. It’s about understanding and learning new skills and coping mechanisms as you evolve through life. I absolutely love therapy.

I hope his analogies made the concept of therapy easier for people to grasp and therefore explore the option. It’s nice to hear it broken down without the side of arrogance or judgement that sometimes goes along with it.

As a therapist, Therapy is an amazing Journey requiring commitment to the discomfort it will take to make the adjustments you need 🥰🙏🏻

Took that renovation metaphor right out of my head. Exactly what I thought. Takes time. Even when you're "done" there's always maintenance and upkeep. Mental health should be an ever evolving project. Sometimes you need to tear down a wall, sometimes you just need a fresh coat of paint. Take what life gives you and roll with it.

Therapy is not just you talking for an hour. And it can make you feel worse before you can start to feel better

this is such a great metaphor too bc you still have to live in the house while you're renovating!! you cant make it uninhabitable while you're trying to fix it

I rambled for an hour today. Told my therapist “you got 2 minutes to respond” 🤣🤣🤣🤣 1 hour is never enough. I need 1 hour to ramble the. 1 more hour for Q & A 🤪

As a therapist myself, I say therapy is a place to HOLD space for the things that take UP space in your life. Especially in the beginning

Yes! It's truly the best gift that we can give ourselves. I love working with my clients! I love that you have this space! I am working with more men now, and it's a beautiful experience.
