Not super cool or anything but totally worth it compared to new home prices. Definitely take it room by room but once it all comes together it’s soooooo nice to have a newly renovated home and a cheap mortgage lol

Yes 🙋♀️it is worth it if you stay forever. Bonus points if it’s a great lot in the neighborhood you’re looking for.

Yes but location is key! And know your capacity for living through renovating.

Bought a 1300sqft house that had been burnt in a house fire (1 room) and was split up into 3 apartments. We completely gutted it and remodeled it in 3 months doing all the work ourselves. Lived in it for 2.5 years and almost quadrupled our equity in that time. Did the same thing on 2 more houses that we rented out. Just bought another one to do the same thing to. It’s a lot of work, headache and nerve racking but totally worth it.

Just downsized from a 5 bedroom colonial to the next chapter downsize ranch that was all original 1960s EVERYTHING! Opened walls, elevated ceilings and it’s all coming together bright, light- yet cozy. Would do it again in a minute and secretly wish it was my job to project manage construction and design projects…💛✨

I have bought one - lived in it 25 years - currently remodeling the first floor including a kitchen (for the second time) - it’s 153 years old and 5000 square feet - have probably dumped 300k into it over the years. Would do it again in a second.
