all found in discord.gg/yoruichi #pain #narutoshippuden #discord #pfp #banner Pain Pain (ペイン, Pein) is the primary alias used by Nagato, a major antagonist in Naruto. He is a shinobi from Amegakure and one of the founders of the criminal organization Akatsuki. Possessing the Rinnegan, Nagato controls six corpses through the Six Paths of Pain, using them as extensions of his will. Pain seeks to end the cycle of hatred and warfare by creating a world in which the fear of overwhelming destruction forces nations to abandon war. Early life Nagato was born in Amegakure during a period of conflict. His parents were killed during the Second Shinobi World War by Konoha shinobi who mistakenly believed them to be enemy combatants. Their deaths left Nagato traumatized and eventually led him to awaken the Rinnegan. While wandering as an orphan, Nagato met Yahiko and Konan, two other children affected by the war. The three became close friends and were eventually discovered by Jiraiya, one of the Legendary Sannin. Jiraiya remained in Amegakure for several years, teaching them ninjutsu so that they could defend themselves. Nagato, Yahiko, and Konan later established an organization dedicated to bringing peace to the war-torn world. Initially, their objective was peaceful: they sought to give Amegakure a voice and prevent smaller nations from becoming battlefields for larger powers. Formation of Akatsuki As the organization grew, it attracted numerous followers. Yahiko became its leader, while Nagato served as one of its most powerful members. Their activities eventually brought them into conflict with Hanzo of the Salamander, the ruler of Amegakure. Hanzo regarded Akatsuki as a threat and manipulated the organization into a confrontation. He captured Konan and forced Nagato to choose between saving her and allowing Yahiko to die. Yahiko ultimately sacrificed himself, taking his own life on one of Nagato’s kunai. Yahiko’s death transformed Nagato’s understanding of peace. Believing that the world could only understand the suffering it inflicted upon others if it experienced comparable pain, Nagato adopted the identity of Pain. He killed Hanzo and seized control of Amegakure, eventually turning the village into the center of his operations. Six Paths of Pain Nagato’s physical body became severely weakened after using the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path. Unable to fight directly, he controlled six corpses from a hidden location. These bodies became known collectively as the Six Paths of Pain. Each possessed a different ability derived from the Rinnegan. The six paths were the Deva Path, Asura Path, Human Path, Animal Path, Preta Path, and Naraka Path. The Deva Path, formed from Yahiko’s corpse, served as Pain’s primary body and was the one most commonly identified as Pain. Its abilities included manipulating attractive and repulsive forces, most notably through Shinra Tensei and Banshō Ten’in. Pain’s six bodies shared a single field of vision, allowing Nagato to coordinate them with extraordinary efficiency. Together, they represented his philosophy that peace could only be achieved through the overwhelming power to inflict suffering. Assault on Konoha Pain eventually targeted Konohagakure in order to capture Naruto Uzumaki, the jinchūriki of the Nine-Tailed Fox. His assault resulted in the destruction of much of the village and the deaths of numerous shinobi. After defeating many of Konoha’s strongest defenders, Pain confronted Naruto, who had returned from training at Mount Myōboku. Naruto fought the Six Paths and gradually defeated them, eventually discovering Nagato’s true location. When Naruto confronted him, Nagato explained his philosophy and the suffering that had shaped his worldview. Naruto rejected Nagato’s conclusion that hatred could only be stopped through greater suffering, but refused to kill him.
