We’re the only country of our peer countries who are allowed to layoff while still being profitable. Other countries make this illegal as employment is more important than shareholder profits.

I'd would be delicioiusly ironic if some of those laid off started companies to compete with their former employer leverage AI to compete better, faster, cheaper.
