I was assuming the sister had no partner, no friends, lived alone and the dog was literally everything she had. In that case I could kind of understand where she was coming from, but no, the sister has a husband of her own that was alive and well

Like I’d be absolutely destroyed if my dog passed away and I get it but the sister is so wrong for this, a dog is not even close to the level a husband is my god

when I lost my grandma I barely cry but when I lost my cat that I only had for one year I was like a child again; and still I consider that OP was right😅I mean grieving I understand but I would never compared the death of a spouse to the loss of my cat😩eveb if thats what you feel never say it out loud

I have lost MANY animals, all of which have me in a wreck for months or years. I would never compare that to the loss of someone you imagined growing old with. Even if it’s a sibling or a parent or grandparent, I would never relate the 2. You can get another pet to patch the hole up in your chest, but it’s way harder to do that with a human loved one. Losing pets is hard, but the 2 are not equal

I can understand that sis may be experiencing the greatest loss of her life so far... but people that compare dogs/cats to people frustrate me. like this scenario or when someone has a baby, it is not the same. Im sorry, but people that think that a German Shepherd is the same as a 3week old new born has RFKjr brain worms.
