For these people who calling tips “mandatory” completely misunderstands what a tip actually is. Unbelievable, honestly. Tips are a reward, not an obligation. A reward comes after a service is delivered, and only when that service is satisfactory in the customer’s eyes. Whether someone tips or not, you are already paid by the company. This is not volunteer work.
