@singularspace0: This video combines actual image data of the Vela Pulsar recorded by NASA with an audio representation of the pulsar's radio frequency pulses. The Vela Pulsar is a rapidly rotating neutron star formed as a result of a core-collapse supernova, located approximately 300 parsecs away. This compact object, about 20 km in diameter, rotates 11 times per second and produces regular electromagnetic pulses in the radio band with each rotation. The sound heard in the video is a sonified representation of the pulsar's radio pulses frequency-time profiles, while the image is a processed form of its high-energy X-ray and optical observations. #neutronstar #space #Science #Astronomy #astrophysics
