I used to think this way, then I realized that Jesus taught sacraments, Jesus taught a way to build within, and that was within a temple. Why did he flip tables at the temple? Because they were defiling Gods house with gambling and sin. He was angry that people would treat the holy sacred place like that. Jesus taught in the synagogues too, he celebrated the Jewish traditions, he embodied the law. Now when we look at churches like the Orthodox Church which have apostolic succession and the laying on of hands that Jesus gave to the apostles, well it changes the entire perspective.

Jesus wasn’t religious. He was spiritual, and he was trying to get people to understand that the pigeons aren’t coming. You have to find God within yourself and no one can sell you, God or save you other than you, but people just totally like reverse his teachings and made it something that he wasn’t even talking about

This is what I do not like about religion. I know the way to know God is to read the word of God but for people who are new to faith like me this can be overwhelming. So many faith content creators. So many different people telling us. Do this do that. Don't live this way or that way. This is how you get into heaven. You must do this to be saved. So many different interpretations it just gets so overwhelming.
