You’re not alone if you feel this too. The constant hum of anxiety is hard to shake. I genuinely wonder if there’s a certain number that, one I see it in my accounts, I’ll finally give my permission to relax. Life is unpredictable and money anxiety isn’t surface level. It’s tied to what we’ve experience or witnessed around us... I’ve been fired or laid off twice in 2 years. My ex once got a $1200 parking ticket. My brother was hit by another driver while he was sitting at a stop sign and his truck was a write off
No number in an account magically makes ingrained worry go away. So much of money is mindset. And working on behaviour and habits is hard. So much harder than juggling pure math equations. It also has the power to get us very far. Progress over perfection—and accepting that uncomfortable work and hard changes are part of the process. It not just balancing an equation, it’s rebalancing your unconscious beliefs around money. If you’re trying and it still feels rough, that’s normal. The important thing is you’re trying. Trust the process. Starting is always the hardest part, so if you’ve jumped over that hurdle, recognize how far you’ve already come and keep running towards the next one at your own speed. I keep reminding myself: → my emergency fund is full—nearly 12 months of expenses should I need it → it’s earning interest to fight inflation → I can focus on investing → I have the power to say ‘no’ to income sources that don’t fulfill me Ready isn’t a feeling—it’s a state of mind. The accounts i use and recommend—HISAs, Investing, etc—are linked in my bio if you’re unsure of where to start. Send this to a friend and save it as a reminder that no matter where you’re at with your money, if you’re reading this, you’re working on your relationship to it in a positive way!
