God, I miss Melina so much. I wish Marvel explored her more. So many interesting psychological things about her. I'm absolutely sure that she did found comfort in science and genuinely liked it. And I'm sure she was proud of her inventory of the chemical subjugation. Because seriously while horrifying you need to be absolute genius to go through so much data they stole and not only understand it but develop and create more. MCU gives us Yelena&Alexei bonding but who cares about him?? give me my Melina back. They're bounded twice, like a mother and a daughter and like two "sisters" of the red room, fellow survivors. And the fact that Yelena was subjugated by something Melina created?? Soooo many things to explore in their relationship. And we have Alexei being a clown instead

I'm so sad that we didnt get a Black Widow/Red Room trilogy 😭 the BW intro is so good and the glimpses we get in AoU and Agent Carter are so interesting, I wish we got more of that instead of a floating sci-fi space ship idk

I loved this adaptation of her, but let's be honest, she became both, victim and perpetrator, she had to pass all the trauma of the Red Room, but she did it kid of "freely", as Natasha, both were conditioned and trained, but then she took all the free will of the rest of widows CHEMICALLY, it wasn't just changing their psychology by violence, it was making them an EMPTY SHELL

I feel bad for Yelena and Natasha, but I also don’t blame Melina. They were all forced to be a part of a mentally and psychologically abusive and manipulative program. They did the only thing they knew they were good at; they were victims. You could tell Melina really wanted to be a mother to Yelena and Natasha, but the only thing that was stopping her was the Red Room and Alexei. I strongly believe that if she could've, she would’ve taken the girls and left to live a new life. Now they'll never get that chance.
