It’s important to analyze why they’re whining. If my corgi is overtired from playing and I put her in her crate she whines for a minute or 2 then passes out. She needed a nap. 10-30 minute of whining sure maybe you need to figure out if there’s another reason.

What about if she’s whining for attention? She’s been to the loo, got enough entertainment, but always wants me to play with her - she’s 12 week, but feel I should ignore her to get her to play independently?

Our dog likes so spread out. We bought a large crate. He’s a mini bernedoodle and only 24lbs. It seems like he cannot fully spread out the way he wants to but getting an XL… it seems like surely a 24lb dog doesn’t need an XL crate??

What do I do if my dog (who is a year old but whom I have had for 3 months at this point) whines at people for attention and paws at his gate? I take him to work and have to keep him gated in my cube because he likes to chew wires but then he starts whining to get out any time someone walks by. How do I train him to just remain settled in my cube and when people come to talk to me? (I promise I do let him out to say hi to people regularly and play with the other office dogs but I can’t let him free roam 100% of the time because he’ll chew wires) I really want to be able to regularly take him to work so he isn’t alone at home but he wont stop whining/barking for attention/get out

The people we got our dog from (they saw the bond I had with him at work and felt he’d have a more happy life with me) gave us his crate and he couldn’t turn around standing up inside it. It gave him crate trauma, it wasn’t until we got a massive crate and worked with treats for months that he now chooses to lie in there on his own

Yeah that’s a big one, one of my dogs is fairly small, 35 pounds and by any and all research most “medium” kennels should fit him, but he loves to be as sprawled out as possible so be needs two sizes larger. It’s all about knowing your dogs on every level because none fit perfectly into a typical scenario
