They absolutely knew they were throwing us under the bus, they just didn't care because they thought it would get them what they wanted. Now that it's clear that the stick was real and the carrot was fake all along, they're "sorry" but if another conman comes along and tries to tell them that they'll benefit from selling out their neighbors, they'll just do it again. They don't regret their actions or way of thinking, they regret that it isn't going how they wanted it to.

they’re gonna have to say it out loud and a lot more than that before we even try to believe they won’t switch up and go against the people again. They thought they would get something personally from this and now that they’re not, they don’t want to face social consequences. Not happening

Foreign influence and bot campaigns — absolutely agreed, they played a huge role (I suspect farther back than we realize). The other huge factor I don’t see mentioned enough is/was how completely broken mainstream media is. On the one hand they blatantly lie. We see it with our own eyes because, thanks to citizen journalism we DO see so much actual footage with our own eyes, and MSM coverage does not align with truth very often these days. In addition, they lie by omission because it’s crazy how much major news (by previous standards) simply isn’t covered. And unfortunately, too many still think they can trust legacy media above all else to keep them informed.

I met a woman who was raised in an evangelical household. Homeschool, religious college. Her world view was so limited, it was alarming. MAGA is a cult. Fully and truly. The people that are just now waking up, it’s because a personal effect allowed for a crack in the facade.
