I may have 99 horrible patients one day, but the one nice patient is the one that makes the whole day worth it. Also, it’s heartwarming when patients trust me enough to tell me their struggles. It’s rewarding in many ways!

I did love the actual pharmacy part, pharmacology. Patients have ruined it. They take every ounce of your soul and trample on it. I don't love it anymore.

I don’t, I hate it, worst decision I’ve ever made, if it wasn’t for the massive student loans I need to pay off I wouldn’t be doing this

Pharmacy is amazing. Love everything about it. The only (and i mean ONLY) downside for me is the abysmal ROI. $250-300k in student loans and we make as much as some nurses. CRNA’s have about the same amount of student debt as pharmacists and make double their income. Just something to think about. Pharmacists need to unionize for higher pay. Interest on federal loans accrue faster than our income 😭

Kyle | ICU Pharmacist :
I love my job. I’m an ICU pharmacist and did two years of residency. The docs ask for my opinion constantly and I feel as if I made true differences in patient outcomes. It was very hard doing residency but I would do it again. I was a retail pharmacist for a year and I did not like it at all, so I think it’s about finding what field of pharmacy you’re passionate about. Lots of different avenues.

I love the relationship I make with my patients but more importantly I love the challenge. As a compounding pharmacist i get challenged everyday to make certain formulas to create medications for patients specific needs. Rewarding and personally a lot of fun! 🤓

There is nothing to like about it, unless you are at the top! The problem is most are pretty delusional to see how bad it is

I love it because the other day, I had a regular patient call me & ask why taking her Eliquis was important for her to take after having 2 blood clots. I sat & explained how the heart works & how the blood thinner helps reduce the risk of recurrent clots. She said “ my doctor would have never explained that to me, much less in a way I could understand”

Everyone is facing battles we can’t see. I love changing lives and warming the hearts of the community. We might be the only interaction for patients all day and they are in pain and vulnerable, so smile and show them love even if they are rude. My reviews prove why kindness is key.

Dr. Ethan Melillo, PharmD :
I’ll be honest, I went into it because I loved how medications can keep people alive especially my close friends/family. And it wasn’t until after pharmacy school where I started having different jobs that I realized that there is so many careers out there that pharmacy schools fail to let us know about. And definitely my biggest piece of advice to students is to learn about all the careers either through clubs or conferences because I wish I had done that

Current P3. I want to help people. I loved science and also have family members that have disease states that I wanted to know how to manage on the medication level, so I wanted to what medications would be the best for them and how they work.

I’m in ambulatory care within a primary care clinic practicing under a clinical practice agreement and LOVE IT. I get to spend dedicated time with my patients discussing their meds and optimizing regimens. So I get to do what I was trained for. I love that my patients feel heard and I get to make huge changes in their lives 🥰

After 20 years in retail I’m numb. I feel nothing. I like the pay I guess. Most of my techs are pretty cool and like 6 patients are alright.
