@nyjewishweek: The World's Largest Menorah has officially been constructed again in Grand Army Plaza on 5th Ave. and 59th St. The menorah stands an impressive 36 feet tall (32 feet plus the 4 ft. shamash). Rabbinical law dictates that a "menorah cannot be more than 32 feet tall because...if you're walking by it, you may not even notice it as a menorah," according to Rabbi Motti Seligson, spokesperson from Chabad. This menorah was designed by Israeli artist Yaacov Agam, and it was first raised in 1986. Since then, it has been a yearly fixture of Hanukkah in NYC. You can attend the public menorah lightings every night of Hanukkah at 5:30 PM and at 8 PM after Shabbat. @chabad
