God bless you, it’s such a pain in the arse. I had to get a lawyer in Greece and a PoA done to help speed up and streamline the process.

My parents divorced when I was 10 in the USA. I am 39 and just got my Greek passport for the first time. During the process, my father had to provide the courts with a copy of the divorce decree. They said he was still married to my mom and that he didn’t ask Greece for the divorce. It took them 2 years to “officially grant” the divorce! Also, my parents did not get married in Greece or at the church. 🤷♀️
