@beginner_pilot: Aeroflot was the state airline of the Soviet Union and one of the largest air carriers in the world. Founded in 1923, it became one of the oldest continuously operating airlines in history. During the post-war period, Aeroflot grew into the planet’s biggest airline, operating an enormous fleet of Soviet-built aircraft and serving millions of passengers every year. Its fleet included well-known models such as the Tu-104, Tu-134, Tu-154, Il-18, Il-62, Il-86, as well as regional aircraft like the An-24, An-26, Yak-40, and Yak-42. Aeroflot flew throughout the entire territory of the USSR and also connected the Soviet Union with countries in Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas. Besides regular passenger flights, the airline carried out many additional missions including cargo transport, medical evacuation flights, polar aviation, agricultural work, and forest firefighting.
