The two brothers accused of torturing and killing their cousin, his girlfriend, and their two children have pleaded not guilty to their slew of charges. On August 31, 2024 the bodies of 30-year-old Fraime Ubaldo; his girlfriend, 26-year-old Marangely Moreno-Santiago; and the couple's two young children, 4-year-old Evangeline Ubaldo Moreno and 2-year-old Sebastian Ubaldo Moreno were found by firefighters after their home was set on fire. Each victim suffered multiple stab wounds to the neck and chest. One week after the killings, Julio Cesar Pimentel-Soriano was arrested in relation to the murders. His brother, Luis Francisco Soriano, fled the country and would be arrested nearly a year later in the Dominican Republic. Both brothers are charged with four counts of first- and second-degree murder and two counts of burglary, kidnapping, and arson. If you're wondering about the motive, you're not alone. While a motive is still being investigated, an affidavit from a drug bust in Florida said authorities in Puerto Rico seized a package Aug. 3 containing three bricks of cocaine and a GPS tracking device that was addressed to the home of Ubaldo. However, the name on the package did not match any of the four homicide victims. A package containing cocaine was delivered to the home next door Aug. 12. At this moment, it's unclear if the drug case is at all connected to the quadruple homicide investigation.
