It wouldn’t necessarily use the gear aspect but you could develop like a tape dispenser, you could make different sizes for duct, electrical, masking, etc tapes and you could add a serrated edge to cut the tape easily

ribbons and wrapping items! I have been trying to solve the problem of my very large collection of things to wrap presents with... something along these lines would be great though might need a softer pull or a way to measure how much is used with clicks? Also could work for wires or soldering?
