@byjamesdavis: Today something happened that honestly stopped me in my tracks. I’m coming up on three years of owning my photo studio, and if you know Santa Ana, you know it’s an old city with a lot of history. I was walking through the Spurgeon building with my boy David, just looking around, and we passed by this old photo of 4th Street. I look closer… and I immediately recognize the building. My building. My studio. Same three windows I walk past every day. So I’m pointing at the picture like, “Yo, this is literally the studio right here.” And then I notice the marquee on the building. It had my name on it. In big bold letters. And right next to it… the word “Candy.” My fiancée’s name is Dulce. Dulce literally means candy in Spanish. I just stood there like… God literally played it out for me years ago. It felt wild, surreal, almost like a little sign that this studio was always meant to be part of my story. I’ve loved this space from day one, but today it hit different. Sometimes life lines things up in ways you don’t even see until later.
